Arts Workshops
Our new arts workshop programme brings creativity and community to care settings, offering residents the chance to express themselves, connect with others, and discover hidden talents. Launched in 2024 with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, this initiative has already reached hundreds of individuals.
What We Offer
Creative Arts Sessions
From songwriting and storytelling to dance and drumming, our workshops are tailored to the needs and abilities of participants.
Dementia-Friendly Approach
Our facilitators are trained to engage all residents, including those living with dementia. They create moments of joy and connection through art.
Staff Training
Each program includes guidance for care staff, empowering them to sustain creative engagement beyond our visits.
Workshop Format
45 minute sessions, delivered over four weeks, to groups of approximately 12 people.
Includes hands-on activities, group collaboration, and plenty of laughter!
Facilitated by professional artists with expertise in working with older adults.
Impact

Workshops take place in your lounge or activity room. A small space is needed where up to 12 residents can comfortable sit in a circle.
Some workshops may require tables. We will advise you in relation to this.

Yes. Residents taking part in workshops must be accompanied by staff at all times.

The workshop will be 40 - 45 minutes. We will arrive approximately 15 minutes before the workshop time given in order to set-up and say hello to everyone. We will stay around for appromimately 15 minutes after the workshop to pack up and chat to residents, service users and family members.

If, for any reason, you need to cancel your workshop then please contact us ASAP by emailing playsaloud@commediaoferrors.co.uk or calling the Plays Aloud mobile on 07395199830.
We will try our best to rearrange your workshop.
privately funded workshop, and are cancelling within a week of the workshop date and time, a cancellation fee may apply. Please check your contract.
