Bi-Annual Tours

Plays Aloud summer and winter tours are a celebration of music, poetry, comedy, and connection. Designed for older audiences, our nostalgia-based variety shows transport residents to the golden years of their youth with songs and stories they know and love.

Three ladies hold a Plays Aloud sign. There are all dressed in summer clothing, two are wearing sunhats. The lady in the middle in a staff member at Glenowen Court. They are all smiling.

What to expect

A Warm Welcome

Every show starts with a friendly meet-and-greet, where our specially-trained performers chat with residents and learn a little about their lives.

The Performance

A 40-45 minute variety show featuring classic hits, poetry, comedy, and interactive moments tailored to your residents.

Personal Connection

After the show, our performers stay to chat and engage with residents, deepening the impact of the experience.

Why It Works

Our performers are trained to engage meaningfully with residents, making eye contact, sharing laughs, and responding to individual reactions.

Even for those living with dementia, our performances create moments of joy, calm, and connection that linger long after the music ends.

A male performer is standing in the middle of a room and is singing to a lady who is reaching out to him.
